Grand Rapids Event Photography

When I get hired to photograph events it can sometimes be just myself or my normal team of 3-4 people to cover the event. The most photographers I have had to cover a large event was 6 of us. It was a week long event in Las Vegas. So much fun and so many images!

It's hard for me to make a post about event photography due to clients and their discretion to be public. So this is a lot of key words for google :-)

My team and I have been hired to photograph events as small as 10 people to up to over 1200 people. I have had the great fortune to be the lead photographer while hired to photograph many stars, music and public. I have many great stories that I won't publish here but if you ever see me ask me about my times with President Bush or Lady Gaga. The David Blaine story is one of my favorites and the time I was with Sting is a great personal story to me. He was truly a professional. Most of the time at an event it's the employees and executives that all stand out. The teams behind the company that runs it all. I get to know them, I get to put them in their best light (wink wink) and document that time of them celebrating, team building or just putting on a party. Most event are filled with lots of meetings, lots of food, parties and entertainment and the President or Owner get to give the official business why they are there. It's a good time to get images from your company. Sometimes we set up a photographer with a headshot area to get new images of your employees and professional headshots.

When we are hired we are trusted to be professional and be personal and also be ready. Being " star- struck" is not in the program. I am entrusted to make everyone at an event feel relaxed and never rushed all the while never being told to do so. I am there to get the best images of that moment whether thats being a fly on the wall or directing my clients.

Of the many places I have been hired to go they all stand out as favorites. I guess I have a few places that are better than others but really would I ever get to go to Switzerland or Vienna? I guess I could but never have they been at the top of my "go to" places. But being contracted to go there and experience the cities and the amazing event my clients put on....how any of them become a favorite? Hawaii, Vancouver, London, Washington DC, Las Vegas, Grand Rapids even? All amazing places with my great clients.

See it's tough to write all I have done without showing each photo of my clients. But over the next few days I will be adding images to show off some of these places and events.

I am based in Grand Rapids and get to photograph wonderful events here in Grand Rapids every month. So if you're in Grand Rapids and need an event photographer please reach out. If your looking for an event travel photography team, reach out and see if we are a fit.
